Always

Life gives us a chance to be true
More often than not, it needs just a single crew
There’s a simplicity in honesty and that’s hard to attain
“You are more than one”, they oft say

“YOU are a society. Hide your own face!”
We conform to this play
We perform, we mere puppets
Mute, deaf and dumb
A far cry from the clenched-fisted howling when born

But life will always give us a chance
To realize our worth, even if it’s dirt cheap
To live with our flaws and be proud of the scars
To learn to change, but never for others
To hold true to our own beliefs
And beyond

There’s always a chance
Waiting to be taken
There’s always a chance
Of self-recognition
